Project: VP-PI-2021/7
SIA "Very Berry" has concluded a cooperation agreement for industrial research to develop five prototypes of the new BIBOPS product with different flavors, experimenting with natural plant raw materials for juice extraction and tea infusions, combining sea herbs and calcium, choosing the optimal proportion. As a result of the project, 5 BIBOPS product prototypes with different flavors were created, product specification, storage rules were defined, as well as recommendations for packaging and labeling requirements were provided.

Project: SKV-L-2018/19
SIA "VERY BERRY" has signed an agreement on ERDF project no. SKV-L-2018/19 with the Latvian Investment and Development Agency for receiving support within the framework of the "Promotion of International Competitiveness" event, which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

Project number: 18-00-A00400-000005
Purchase of juice packaging equipment, watering systems, weather station, electric forklift and mower.

As part of the project, an irrigation system will be installed for 5ha of blueberry plantations. Plantings should be watered both during spring and autumn frosts, and during prolonged drought, as well as on hot summer days, when the temperature is above +29 degrees Celsius. 2018 showed the advantages of the irrigation system. No irrigation was installed in 5 ha of blueberry plantations and they suffered from both spring frosts and severe drought. The yield decreased by 80%.
In order to be able to more accurately determine the approach of frost and minimize its risks, as well as to determine wind speed and precipitation, a weather station will be purchased, which will report the approaching frost to the driver's mobile phone and to the watchman's house in the swamp. Precise frost protection ensures constant yields and its quality, which has already been proven over many years to provide the company with crops even in years when other growers do not have them due to weather conditions.
In the swamp, the functions of the drainage system are ensured by card ditches every 20m. Currently mowing ditches is done by hand with a brushcutter, which is time and labor intensive. The new lawnmower will allow you to maintain the edges of the ditches and the rows, which fit the card ditches, ensuring weed control. In the bog, 80 pieces of card ditches with a length of 250 m must be maintained in the already planted fields several times a season.
In recent years, the demand for juice packaging in beg&box bags has increased. This is convenient for the buyer and allows for a longer shelf life of an already opened product. The capacity of the BIB equipment in the company is 200l/h and it does not allow filling in the new Pouch packaging, because pressure is required to fill such type of bags, and the existing equipment is based on the principle of self-flow. The new equipment will allow filling starting from 675l/h in the smallest package and up to 2000l/h, with pressure and using less labor force, as it will be semi-automatic.
As the company's turnover increases, so does the amount of cargo to be transported. This applies both to the quantities of raw materials - berries, fruits, packaging, and other loads that provide production needs. As exports to the EU and other countries increase, more and more cargoes are prepared on pallets and handed over for dispatch on site at the company. Therefore, an electric hoist with sufficient lifting capacity and lifting height will be purchased. And since the raw material is stored in freezers, the electric lift will ensure operation even at -20 degrees Celsius.

Project: 17-00-A00402-000018
VERY BERRY LTD
Purchase of juice pasteurization and bottle labeling equipment
Project number 17-00-A00402-000018

The new pasteurization equipment has a higher capacity - 1500l/h, which will allow to increase production volumes and provide filling services, increasing the company's income. Potential cooperation partners are interested in bottling birch juice and bottling sauerkraut juice. The energy source for the new pasteurizer will be liquefied gas. As a result, the cost of pasteurization energy carrier will decrease. Such a pasteurizer will have a medium-sized capacity and will be optimal for our company, allowing to increase the production efficiency by five times. The capacity of the pasteurizer corresponds to the filling monoblock available for rent. The bottle labeling machine will allow to increase the production capacity, because it is automatic and connects with the equipment in the company. The labeling machine will have the ability to control the set parameters and with the integrated memory remember the set state of the labels and self-diagnosis of errors. The inkjet printer will be included in the labeling line, where it will be possible to electronically set the printable data with expiration dates and all the parameters of the production batches, which will ensure better product traceability and allow the company to qualify for the international quality certificate. Currently, the top label is glued by hand, which is cumbersome and time-consuming at the company's current capacity. In the new machine, the top label will be glued automatically together with the base label. The yield will increase five times, but if you take into account the gluing of the top label, then almost ten times.
